Thinking of stepping out of a fulltime executive career into a plural life? Hear from an experienced Non-Exec Chairman on how to design and build a portfolio of Non exec roles suited to your needs. Gary Browning took this step in 2016 after a long career as a CEO and has subsequently built a portfolio of Chairmanships, NEDs and Advisory roles in both listed and privately owned companies.

Effective Networking through Storytelling in a Post-Pandemic Hybrid World
Tuesday 7th February 2023 from 10am to 12pm
Hosted by Ross Emerson
Networking today is about more than just meeting new people, exchanging contact details, and expanding your contact base. It’s about telling your story effectively, sharing your purpose, and building your personal brand in the process. The prevalence of social media platforms poses both additional outlets and pressures to get your message across in what seems to be an unending number of channels.
And in the current post-pandemic hybrid world of work, we are challenged with having to network both virtually and in person, requiring more of our personal energy reserves as well as physical and emotional agility in order to be successful.
This workshop will focus on:
- Simple structuring of your networking communications and "personal brand building" techniques through storytelling
- Effective sequencing of your messages
- Delivering with authenticity, sharing your passion and purpose strategically
- The importance of having a call to action
- Integrating current trends in the world of work into your networking narrative
- Simple tips on how to ensure you’re virtually presenting yourself in the best way possible to maximise networking activity and build lasting professional relationships online
The workshop also integrates a group discussion regarding the emotional ups and downs of networking and how to effectively prepare for these dynamics. This is an interactive workshop that requires active participation and engagement of attendees with cameras turned on. The workshop is not recorded to ensure a safe space for open discussion in a psychologically safe and supportive environment.
The session will be approx. 2 hours including an opportunity for Q&A. A practical toolkit is available after the workshop to help attendees get better organised for their own networking campaign.
