Title: Commercial Principal Associate Lawyer 7+PQE
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £90-100,000 DOE.

They are currently seeking a Commercial Principal Associate Lawyer to join their dynamic team in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to private sector companies and large public sector bodies on a local, national, and international scale. Your work will involve a wide range of commercial matters across various sectors such as transport, automotive, real estate, utilities, and industrial engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading workstreams and managing a diverse range of commercial matters, including strategic arrangements, operational agreements, and standard forms
- Supervising and supporting junior team members, providing regular guidance and coaching
- Managing client relationships, ensuring effective scoping of work and delivering profitable outcomes
- Collaborating with specialised colleagues from different practise areas to provide comprehensive legal advice
- Contributing to business development initiatives, including involvement in pitches, training programmes, client events, and networking activities
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of commercial contract terms and legal, commercial, and operational issues in commercial deals
- Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills with a focus on attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and business drivers
- Effective project management and communication skills, both internally and externally
- Experience in supervising and developing team members, providing regular feedback and support
- Ability to manage a heavy workload with competing demands and maintain matter profitability
- Proactive approach to business development, supporting the growth of the firm
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7 years PQE in commercial law
- Detailed understanding of commercial contract terms and related legal principles
- Hands-on experience in managing complex commercial transactions
- Strong academic background and excellent drafting skills
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Experience in a City or leading regional firm preferred
