An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&A Associate Director to join a leading Corporate Finance advisory team in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to lead complex and high-value transactions across a diverse client base, working closely with business owners, investors, and senior stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

The Opportunity


This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing end-to-end transaction processes and supporting the continued growth of the M&A advisory business. The successful candidate will lead deal teams, drive execution excellence, and play a central role in client relationship management and new business development.


You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of sectors and transaction types, including buy-side, sell-side, and fundraising mandates, while helping to shape strategy and mentor future leaders within the team.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead M&A engagement processes from origination through to completion.


  • Manage and oversee deal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard.


  • Liaise directly with clients, target businesses, and professional advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle.


  • Oversee the preparation of key deal documentation including Information Memoranda, teasers, and buyer research packs.


  • Support and deliver engaging presentations and sales pitches for new business opportunities.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries including private equity houses, banks, and corporates.


  • Lead origination activities and identify new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

About You


The ideal candidate will be a proactive and commercially minded M&A professional who thrives on variety, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering outstanding client outcomes.


You will bring:



  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification.


  • 3-5 years' post-qualified experience in M&A or Corporate Finance.


  • A demonstrable track record of managing buy-side, sell-side, and fundraising transactions.


  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, and presentation skills.


  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership abilities.
