Employment Lawyer (5-7 PQE)


Location: London | Global Financial Services Organisation


Are you a skilled employment lawyer ready to take the next step in your career within a dynamic, international financial services environment? We're seeking a confident, commercially astute professional to join our in-house legal team in London as a Employment Counsel.


This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a global organisation, supporting operations across EMEA and Asia. You'll be working closely with senior employment lawyers, HR, Compliance, and business leaders to advise on a wide range of employment-related legal matters in a highly regulated and fast-paced setting.


Key Responsibilities


As a trusted advisor, you'll provide hands-on legal support across the full employment lifecycle, including:


  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts and agreements
  • Updating and maintaining employee handbooks, policies and procedures
  • Advising on performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace investigations
  • Supporting HR and business teams on compensation, benefits, and regulatory compliance
  • Responding to regulatory investigations and enquiries
  • Advising on data privacy and employment-related data issues
  • Contributing to internal legal and HR training, knowledge-sharing and best practices
  • Supporting high-level presentations and reporting on employment matters to senior leadership

Requirements:


  • 5-7 years PQE as an employment lawyer in-house or at a leading law firm
  • Significant experience advising clients in financial services (preferably investment banking)
  • Practical exposure to international employment law, particularly across EMEA and Asia
  • A collaborative and commercial mindset, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and manage a varied, high-volume workload
