Legal Counsel | North East | NQ (or upcoming) - 2 years PQE
LHH are pleased to be supporting a leading manufacturer to the offshore energy market growing manufacturer in their search for a Legal Counsel. The organisation lean on 30+ years of experience to design, manufacture and install bespoke cabling systems.
Joining an experienced and well-resourced legal team, they are now looking for a to bolster the team with an additional lawyer to provide invaluable legal, contractual, and commercial support.
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate contract terms, advising on exceptions and mitigating risks.
- Conduct negotiations with customers and suppliers to establish favourable contract terms.
- Process customer purchase orders and facilitate smooth handover to Project Services.
- Collaborate with external law firms for up-to-date legal advice to minimise risks.
- Provide legal support in resolving warranty claims and reducing financial exposure.
- Advise Project Managers on contractual obligations and legal compliance.
- Offer guidance on insurance claims and clauses to mitigate risks.
- Act as a liaison with stakeholders and partners, fostering strong relationships.
Requirements:
- Experience in resolving disputes and warranty claims, preferably within litigation and arbitration processes.
- Strong understanding of contract review and negotiation.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Desirable experience in construction contracts, renewables industry, and offshore environment.
- Familiarity with construction insurances and claims is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of international jurisdictions, particularly Civil Law, is a plus.
- Legal qualifications such as Legal Executive or Solicitor are preferred.
