In-House Construction Solicitor - Newcastle
LHH are pleased to be supporting a global multi-disciplinary consultancy in their search for a construction lawyer to join their well regarded in-house legal team.
Our client are an international consultancy with a focus on innovative and sustainable solutions. Following organic business growth, both in the UK and overseas (they are present in 25 locations currently), the legal team are subsequently looking to grow with this newly-created role.
As part of the team, led by a seasoned GC, you'll play a key role in reviewing and managing the contractual arrangements for our client's global projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the global business, providing advice, conducting negotiations, and supporting the implementation of legal risk management policies.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing contracts and contractual arrangements
- Providing bespoke and tailored legal advice and support
- Undertaking contractual negotiations
- Reporting to the regional management boards on legal matters
- Offering advice on the validity of requests for assignments and collateral warranties
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQE
- Strong experience in construction law and negotiating professional engineering consultancy agreements
- Familiarity with additional areas such as GDPR, commercial contracts, commercial litigation, professional indemnity insurance, and building contracts would be highly advantageous
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
