Electrical Craft Team Member

Northamptonshire

£Competitive Salary + benefits

An established industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Craft Team Member to join its engineering team at a major production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical technician to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, reliability and teamwork are central to operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plant performance and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently across a rotating shift pattern.

Working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team covering days, lates and nights Monday to Friday, the role focuses on both planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault finding across a range of plant electrical systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical faults quickly to minimise downtime, working on relay control circuits, AC and DC motors and a variety of drives. The position also involves basic PLC fault finding, particularly on Siemens S7 platforms, along with reading and interpreting electrical drawings and accurately updating maintenance records within a CMMS environment such as SAP PM. In addition to day-to-day maintenance activity, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability and operational safety.

The ideal candidate will be apprentice trained or hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering such as a BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ. You will have experience working within a heavy industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment and possess strong electrical fault-finding skills. A solid understanding of low voltage systems, motors and drives is important, along with experience working within safe systems of work. You will be comfortable working as part of a shift team in a busy production environment. An 18th Edition qualification and some mechanical awareness would be advantageous but are not essential.

This position offers the opportunity to join a large, well-established industrial employer with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and long-term sustainability, while working within a supportive and collaborative engineering team.
