The Opportunity
A well-established and client-focused law firm in Street, Somerset is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Legal Assistant to join its busy Commercial Property team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to solicitors, ensuring the smooth running of transactions from start to finish.


This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant with prior experience in Commercial Property to join a supportive and forward-thinking team with genuine prospects for career progression.


Key Responsibilities



  • Open new client files and complete Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks


  • Draft and issue client care letters


  • Collate office copies and gather redemption information


  • Undertake searches and prepare contract packs


  • Draft correspondence and other legal documentation


  • Assist with exchanges, registrations, and post-completion matters


  • Manage file closure and archiving processes


  • Act as first point of contact for clients, agents, lenders, and solicitors


  • Maintain strong relationships through clear and professional communication


  • Escalate issues to the supervising solicitor where necessary


  • Support solicitors with legal research and document preparation


  • Ensure smooth operation of the case management system


About You



  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant in a Commercial Property department (minimum 1-2 years)


  • Strong knowledge of commercial property processes and documentation


  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills


  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills


  • Confident dealing with clients, agents, lenders, and solicitors


  • Proficient with case management systems and Microsoft Office


  • A proactive, client-focused team player with strong attention to detail
