Location: Onsite, 5x8 Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Operating Room Scheduler for contract role with a leading healthcare provider. This role involves preparing efficient daily Operating Room schedules based on physician requests, hospital admissions, and more. The Surgery Scheduler will use specialized software to maintain the daily operation of the posting department. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills with an established company.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule procedures online to maximize OR utilization and minimize delays.
Prepare and update schedules for Operating Rooms, including changes, cancellations, and reactivations.
Maintain a Wait List of procedures when necessary.
Distribute schedules to appropriate departments and provide clinical coordinators with accurate future schedules.
Collaborate with the Posting Coordinator on schedule changes.
Review equipment conflicts and maintain correct spelling of procedures.
Work with anesthesia, clinical leaders, and other healthcare professionals to carry out the daily surgical schedule.
Follow clinic standards, including using Cerner EMR.
Patient Education & Preparation:
Coordinate between the surgeon and the patient for surgical procedures.
Determine surgical dates based on availability.
Assign appropriate procedure and diagnosis codes.
Document special directions for anesthesiology, equipment, and other needs.
Counsel patients about the pre-admission process and post-operative appointments.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED; Associate's degree preferred.
1-2 years+ surgery scheduling experience required.
