LHH is actively seeking a Temporary Instructional Designer to support our client’s large-scale enterprise training initiative focused on accelerating the development, rebranding, and packaging of learning deliverables. This role will play a key part in rapidly building high-quality training assets, ensuring standards compliance (e.g., SCORM, xAPI), and performing quality assurance to meet aggressive executive timelines.

The Instructional Designer will partner closely with learning and development stakeholders to update existing content and create new training materials across multiple formats, helping reduce delivery bottlenecks and ensure consistency across a high volume of learning assets.

This will be a hybrid contract opportunity with our client in Charlotte.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop engaging training materials by identifying learning objectives, collaborating with stakeholders, and creating content aligned with business needs.

  • Build and update training assets for instructor-led, self-paced, and interactive e-learning formats.

  • Develop new hire training materials for frontline employees, including train-the-trainer guides, checklists, and skill-based assessments.

  • Rebrand and refresh existing training content to align with updated standards and visual guidelines.

  • Ensure learning deliverables meet technical standards and quality requirements, including SCORM and xAPI compliance.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, usability, and consistency across training materials.

  • Maintain current knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and industry standards.

  • Collaborate in a self-directed team environment to support evolving business requirements and learning solutions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Technical Communications, Education, or equivalent work or military experience.

  • 3 years of experience in training design and development.

  • Experience using authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Rise, Storyline, or comparable applications.

  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in training design and development.

  • Experience working with a learning management system (LMS).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience managing complex technical content.

  • Ability to work with non-technical users and clearly explain technical concepts.

  • Understanding of multiple transportation-related or operational systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively for diverse audiences.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.



Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
