LHH is working with a client in the Insurance industry based in the Chicago Loop that is looking to hire a Business Analyst with Insurance/P&C experience to join our team for a 9+ month project. The role will be hybrid (2 days onsite at our client’s Chicago Loop HQ).
Candidates MUST be local to the Chicagoland area to be considered for this position and MUST have current/prior Insurance industry experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines, including the following:
Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and conduct working sessions to elicit, document, and review business requirements
Collaborate with the ART team and own the Agile Program Vision, Program Backlog, and Program Increment (PI) Roadmap
Continuously communicate requirements and acceptance criteria to ART leadership and teams, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained in tools such as Confluence (e.g., use cases, process flows, business rules, and user interface mock‑ups) throughout the concept and definition phases
Support system test planning to ensure test conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected results adequately validate business and non‑functional requirements
Participate in design reviews to confirm detailed designs meet defined business and non‑functional requirements
Manage the requirements lifecycle using appropriate requirements management tools (e.g., Jira)
Ensure sufficient research is performed to fully understand business problems, evaluate solution options, and support the development of innovative, cost‑effective solutions
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Broad understanding of the Property & Casualty insurance industry, including products, practices, and operations
Strong knowledge of the system development life cycle and Agile methodologies, including interface design and external vendor integrations
Experience with legal matter workflows and lifecycle management
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey business requirements through Agile artifacts and backlog refinement
Strong client‑facing and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and IT teams
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other business‑related software systems
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Typically a minimum of four years of experience in business analysis or related fields, such as Commercial Insurance Claims, Legal Operations, or technology roles involving requirements identification and documentation
Pay Details: $45.00 to $65.00 per hour
