Senior Infor XA Programmer/Analyst
Position Summary:
We are representing a client seeking a skilled Sr. Infor XA Programmer/Analyst to join their team. This role involves supporting the design, development, and maintenance of the Infor XA ERP system on the AS/400 platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and distribution, coupled with technical expertise in RPG programming and related technologies such as ION, API, REST, JSON, and SOAP. This is a hands-on role that demands excellent technical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
- Analyze, develop, and implement software programs on IBM Midrange systems.
- Provide advanced support and expertise in the Infor XA ERP system across multiple modules.
- Offer daily support to end-users and recommend software solutions to meet business needs.
- Manage software development projects, including programming tasks and production support.
- Assist with help desk issues and establish/support EDI communications with business partners.
- Collaborate with global locations to identify and implement process improvements.
Project Management:
- Oversee project lifecycles from requirements gathering to go-live support.
- Modify existing programs to meet business requirements and test solutions thoroughly.
- Ensure adherence to change controls and governance policies while delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Develop formal testing protocols and provide end-user training and documentation.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of application development experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Expertise in RPG (ILE/FREE), SQL, Stored Procedures, and XML.
- Familiarity with JSON, REST, APIs, and interfacing with third-party systems is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficiency with Infor XA, Enterprise Integrator, and Systemlink/Powerlink (R9 or above preferred).
- Experience with SDLC methodologies, including Agile/Scrum/Waterfall.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and provide off-hours support as needed.
