Accounts Receivable – Credit & Collections
Immediate Opening in Concord, CA. You will research, resolve, and communicate accounts receivable issues related to customer accounts, including contacting customers to discuss balances, processing payments, researching credits/debits, and managing overdue accounts and collections. Responsible for running aging reports, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records. Must be able to prioritize daily and monthly tasks, respond quickly to client requests, and maintain a high level of customer service. This role is in office daily and candidates should be local and able to commute daily. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Credit Management
Establish and review credit lines for new and existing customers in coordination with sales teams.
Conduct credit checks using tools such as Dun & Bradstreet, Experian, or similar platforms.
Periodically review credit for existing accounts and recommend adjustments as needed.
Collections
Manage the full-cycle collections process, including issuing invoices, monitoring aging reports, and prioritizing collection efforts based on account status.
Initiate and follow up on collection activities via calls, emails, and written correspondence.
Negotiate payment plans, handle disputes, and escalate accounts to third-party collections or legal action when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and outcomes.
Accounts Receivable Operations
Accurately enter and maintain customer and transaction data in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Process and post customer payments (cash, check, ACH, credit card).
Reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and resolve payment issues.
Prepare and analyze aging reports, recommend corrective actions, and support month-end close processes.
Customer Service & Communication
Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding account status, invoices, and payment terms.
Provide documentation (invoices, statements, proof of delivery) as requested.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams (sales, operations, customer service).
Required Experience & Skills
4+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with a emphasis on commercial credit and collections.
Proficiency with accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Excel).
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with credit risk evaluation and collections in high-volume or complex environments.
Experience with liens and lien waivers is a plus!
Customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset.
