Bankruptcy Legal Assistant
Salary & Benefits: $85,000 – $110,000, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, and more
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Job Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
LHH is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded bankruptcy law firm seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Legal Assistant with a strong focus on Chapter 11 matters to join their team in Costa Mesa, CA. This role supports creditor-side bankruptcy litigation, with an emphasis on complex Chapter 11 cases.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with the preparation, drafting, and filing of federal and appellate court documents related to Chapter 11 proceedings
Support all aspects of creditor-side Chapter 11 bankruptcy litigation, including case administration and litigation support
Draft, file, and serve discovery and bankruptcy-related pleadings
Assist with trial preparation, hearings, and related court appearances
Perform e-filing in federal bankruptcy court and related jurisdictions
Organize, manage, and maintain high-volume Chapter 11 case files in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
2+ years of litigation experience, including federal and appellate court filings
2+ years of bankruptcy experience with a primary focus on Chapter 11 cases
Strong technical proficiency and experience with legal and bankruptcy-specific software
Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and handle a substantial caseload
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
