Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Senior Accountant for a growing client in Northern Kentucky. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and assisting with audits and process improvements. The Senior Accountant works closely with leadership to maintain strong financial controls and compliance. This position is Direct Hire and will pay between $80K and $94K annually. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities
  • Prepared and reviewed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Managed month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Performed complex account reconciliations, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Analyzed financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities
  • Supported internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries
  • Ensured compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations
  • Assisted with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
  • Provided guidance and review support to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Participated in system improvements, automation initiatives, and process standardization efforts

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced account reconciliation and general ledger experience
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel functionality
  • Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
