About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and escalating potential safety or regulatory concerns related to vehicle models. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Safety Investigations, and Compliance—to ensure timely detection, assessment, and communication of emerging safety issues.
This is a support-level position ideal for someone who enjoys data analysis, process-driven work, and contributing to meaningful safety outcomes in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze vehicle data to identify potential safety defects or regulatory non-compliance issues.
Review safety alerts (SODAS Alerts) using analytics tools and assign appropriate dispositions.
Prepare investigation summaries and escalation materials for committee and management review.
Collaborate with Engineering teams (Vehicle Safety Investigation and Emerging Issues) to support case analysis.
Conduct structured investigations using consumer complaints, warranty data, field reports, NHTSA data, and more.
Assess severity, frequency, and detectability of issues using predefined scoring models.
Track and manage active cases to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including investigation timelines and reporting accuracy.
Escalate high-priority findings to management promptly and clearly.
Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams as needed during investigations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
Basic understanding of vehicle systems and automotive safety standards is a plus.
Familiarity with FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) is helpful.
Experience working with data tools such as Excel, Alteryx, or similar platforms is preferred.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple investigations with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently under general supervision.
Pay Details: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour
