Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description: We are looking for an energetic individual who will be responsible for the support of

quality initiatives within the manufacturing facility, assuring quality / industry standards are being

maintained and participate in maintaining and improving the organization’s Quality Management

System to assure customer satisfaction and product quality.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)·

 Daily auditing of departmental processes and paperwork according to QA procedures.

 Supplier Management Activities (including rejections, SCAR’s and onsite audits as necessary)

 Machine Validation/Qualification activities

 Create and/or improve process documentation to support quality initiatives

 Customer complaint investigations / implementation of corrective actions

 Real-time inspection of products, processes and systems / Assist with daily quality inspections

as needed

 Create written reports or analysis as necessary

 Initiate/participate in facility/corporate continuous improvement efforts

 Reviews, monitors and reports on any new industry, quality, OSHA, IATA or other related

standards.

 Perform tasks in accordance to all GSC safety rules and regulations

 Performs tasks in accordance to GSC handbook and written procedures

 Other duties as needed and assigned by management

III. QUALIFICATIONS

· BS/BA in engineering, science or related field (or equivalent work experience)

· Computer literate (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.); experience with SPC tools/software helpful

· Familiarity with quality management concepts (ASQC certification attained or willingness to pursue)

· Familiarity with printing processes (ideal, but not required)

· Ability to interpret and implement customer specifications/requirements

· Excellent visual acuity and color discrimination.

· Ability to work independently / self-starter

· Good interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication)

· Good analytical problem solving abilities (root cause determination)

· Able to anticipate consequences and potential problems arising from a course of action

· Able to lift 40 lbs

*Reports Directly to: Director of Quality Assurance

. Also works with: Quality Assurance Technicians and Inspectors and Production Dept.,Office Staff and

Plant Personnel.
