The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for generating new business, nurturing existing accounts, and providing exceptional customer support within the fastener and industrial components industry. This role involves proactive outbound outreach to potential customers, handling inbound inquiries, and collaborating closely with Business Development Managers across multiple product lines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and motivated to meet and exceed sales goals.

Inside Sales Specialist

Location: Lakewood, NJ (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $50,000–$60,000
Reports To: Sales Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective customers and connect with multiple decision-makers within each organization.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to understand customer needs, challenges, and requirements.

  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to develop tailored account strategies.

  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term relationship building.

  • Ask discovery questions and actively listen to identify customer needs.

  • Set personal sales and productivity goals aligned with company standards.

  • Stay informed on inventory availability, product features, and benefits.

  • Manage a structured follow-up system to encourage repeat business and account growth.

  • Review and analyze weekly, monthly, and annual performance with management to optimize productivity.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of fastener industry terminology, standards, and competitive landscape.

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new relationships with engineers and other technical contacts.

  • Respond promptly to customer requests for quotes and product information.

  • Follow up on all open quotes, including government bid requests.

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and other terms with customers.

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and revenue goals.

  • Perform customer service duties including order entry, expediting shipments, and entering quotes.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Strong communication skills with proper grammar, spelling, and verbal clarity.

  • Solid math skills, including knowledge of fractions, decimals, percentages, and discount calculations.
