HR Assistant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an HR Assistant with 1 year of experience working in a similar role. This is a Temp opportunity within the nonprofit industry, located in New Hyde Park, NY.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate initial fingerprinting and background checks for new hires and internal transfers, as required.
  • Manage all onboarding administrative tasks and maintain organized filing systems.
  • Accurately enter new hire information into the HRIS, ensuring completeness and confidentiality.
  • Produce and distribute employee identification badges.
  • Maintain the Applicant Tracking System, including removing filled job postings from the Career Center.
  • Support Recruiters by completing employment and education verifications and preparing employment-related correspondence such as offer letters and rejection letters.
  • Assist in preparing materials and resources for job fairs as needed.
  • Answer and screen incoming phone calls, providing assistance with recruitment-related inquiries.
  • Serve as backup support for Front Desk Receptionists when required.
  • Exercise sound judgment and initiative in handling urgent matters that require immediate attention.
  • Support HR records management through filing, retrieving, and organizing documents.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information throughout daily responsibilities.
  • Conduct audits of onboarding files for prospective new hires and submit completed packets to the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist and/or HR Director for final approval.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of HR/administrative experience
