Job Title: Plant Health and Safety Manager
Location: Onsite - Oak-dale, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, M - F (40 hours a week)
Work Type: Three month contract opportunity with possibility of extension
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety professional with a strong background in industrial safety, ideally within a warehouse or plant environment, to lead our facility's Health and Safety programs. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, committed to achieving zero injuries, and skilled in implementing safety protocols that support world-class performance.
As the Plant Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding safety initiatives, supporting compliance with OSHA and other regulations, and ensuring a safe, accident-free work environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or a related field (Required).
At least 5 years of industrial safety experience (Required), with CSP certification (Preferred).
Proven experience in a warehouse or plant environment.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety compliance standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence a culture of safety.
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; able to interpret technical instructions in various forms.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Leadership: Develop and manage health and safety programs that promote a safe workplace and prevent accidents.
Training & Education: Plan and deliver training programs on workplace safety practices for both managers and employees, ensuring consistent adherence to safety protocols.
Accident Investigation: Assist in investigating accidents, preparing reports for regulatory agencies, and implementing preventative measures.
Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Compliance & Reporting: Guide the facility toward full compliance with State, Federal, and local safety regulations; manage initial Workers Compensation processes.
Committee Participation: Actively facilitate the Central Safety Committee, providing resources and guidance for safety improvement initiatives.
Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments, analyze accident data to identify trends, and implement preventative measures.
