About the Role
A reputable and well‑established commercial and industrial construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM2 level) to support growing operations in the Phoenix market. This individual will oversee one or multiple construction projects—up to $50M in value—ensuring excellence across budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, subcontracting, and overall project delivery.
The ideal candidate brings strong public sector or municipal project experience, along with the ability to cultivate positive relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal project staff. This role also includes mentoring and supporting project team members to help maximize performance and support the firm’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all project estimates are prepared accurately and aligned with project requirements.
Review and monitor design and construction documents for adherence to budget, schedule, and contract.
Lead bidding processes, including preparing bid instructions and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and related documentation.
Oversee implementation of the project chart of accounts.
Collaborate with the Superintendent and scheduling team to support project planning and scheduling.
Review subcontractor billing worksheets and progress payment requests; track payments and disbursements.
Prepare monthly forecasts, cost reports, and required project reporting.
Supervise and mentor assigned project staff; conduct performance reviews and quarterly check-ins.
Qualifications
Required
7–10 years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
Experience managing public sector or municipal projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects up to $50M in size.
Valid driver’s license; ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
