Healthcare Data & Reporting Analyst – Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR)
About the Opportunity
LHH is partnering with a respected healthcare organization to identify a Healthcare Data & Reporting Analyst to support its Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) program. This role plays a critical part in transforming complex healthcare and dispute resolution data into actionable insights that inform strategy, mitigate risk, and reduce financial and operational impact.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical and analytical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a deep interest in healthcare analytics. This position works closely with appeals, program management, technology, and senior leadership teams to deliver high-impact reporting, dashboards, and strategic recommendations.
What You’ll Do
Data Analysis & Reporting
Develop and maintain end-to-end tracking metrics for all IDR cases, including volume trends, resolution outcomes, cost drivers, and overall financial impact to the health plan
Design, build, and enhance interactive dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into IDR performance
Perform advanced data extraction, transformation, and analysis using SQL and related tools across multiple data sources
Conduct root-cause and trend analysis to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement
Technical Collaboration & Data Enablement
Partner with Technology Services to improve IDR-related data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
Recommend and support enhancements to data architecture that improve accuracy, scalability, and reporting efficiency
Ensure data integrity through regular validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes
Develop automated reporting solutions to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
Strategic Insights & Executive Support
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Deliver data-backed recommendations grounded in healthcare and insurance industry knowledge
Identify opportunities to reduce IDR volume, costs, and adverse outcomes through proactive, data-driven analysis
Present insights and recommendations to leadership, program management, and cross-functional teams
Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate closely with Appeals teams to understand IDR case dynamics and data requirements
Align reporting and metrics with Program Management goals and regulatory expectations
Support executive decision-making through ad hoc analysis and strategic reporting
Educate stakeholders on IDR trends, metrics, and their implications for the health plan
Documentation, Quality & Project Management
Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, methodologies, and reporting processes
Adhere to established quality assurance standards and analytical best practices
Participate in peer review to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of outputs
Manage timelines effectively while communicating progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying and data analysis
Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
Advanced Excel skills and strong command of the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical insights clearly
Ability to work independently while collaborating across diverse teams
Understanding of healthcare insurance operations, claims processing, and dispute resolution workflows
Familiarity with IDR-related regulations, including the No Surprises Act (preferred)
Highly Desired
Experience with additional analytical or automation tools (Python, R, SAS, Alteryx, etc.)
Exposure to AI-enabled tools that enhance analytics and productivity
Background in healthcare analytics, claims analysis, or appeals/dispute resolution
Knowledge of healthcare finance and cost analysis methodologies
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, or a related field
2–3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, ideally within healthcare or health insurance
Experience working with healthcare claims, appeals, or dispute resolution data strongly preferred
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Compensation: $30-35/hr
