  • Liability & Loss Assessment: Determine liability, scope of loss, and appropriate valuation through thorough investigation.

  • Negotiation & Documentation: Negotiate settlements effectively, obtain required approvals, and ensure proper releases and financial controls are in place.

  • Timely Processing: Acknowledge, document, and process claims within required timeframes, proactively managing aging and driving claims to closure.

Your work directly supports compliance, recovery, and financial accuracy.

  • Subrogation & Recovery: Identify third-party liability, notify underwriters, and pursue recoveries where appropriate.

  • Financial Controls: Maintain accurate reserves, process invoices, and ensure payments align with company standards.

  • Systems & Records: Accurately document claim activity in claims management systems (RMIS or similar platforms).

  • Regulatory & Contract Compliance: Ensure all claim handling adheres to company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate & Build Strong Partnerships

Serve as a trusted partner across the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with operations, sales, and leadership teams to support claim resolution and customer satisfaction.

  • Vendor & Underwriter Management: Maintain productive relationships with external claims vendors and underwriters.

  • Clear Communication: Provide timely, concise updates to stakeholders on claim status and outcomes.

  • Loss Prevention: Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce future risk exposure.

What You Bring

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of relevant claims experience (cargo or transportation preferred)

  • Strong understanding of claims best practices, contracts, and applicable regulations

  • Ability to independently manage priorities and drive claims to resolution
