LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Payroll Manager for one of our customers located in Sacramento, California. This position is 100% in-office! The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in accounting with expertise in payroll and have prior management experience. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. You will work closely with the Finance and HR departments to maintain compliance with all payroll regulations and to provide exceptional service to our team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Maintain payroll records and prepare reports for management.

  • Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data is up-to-date and accurate.

  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other regulatory reports.

  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

  • Experience in payroll taxes, payroll audit, and expertise in California wage and hour laws.

  • Prior experience with Accounts Payable.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Associates Degree plus additional experience would be good

  • Previous managerial experience is required

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or in a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, rules, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in payroll software preferably UKG

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate to Advanced Excel).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.


Experience: 5 years of senior accounting experience (Payroll Manager, Payroll Accountant, Office Manager)
