Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Santee, CA


LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Generalist to manage HR functions and ensure compliance with California employment laws. The ideal candidate will have a background in workers’ compensation, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and compliance management. This person must have experience in the construction industry.



Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and terminations

  • Administer workers’ compensation claims, maintain compliance documentation, and coordinate with insurance carriers

  • Ensure company policies and procedures align with California labor laws and update as regulations evolve

  • Support leadership with employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

  • Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR reporting

  • Lead HR initiatives that foster employee engagement, retention, and organizational growth.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of progressive HR experience

  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and compliance standards

  • Experience managing workers’ compensation cases and employee relations

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; HR certification (PHR/SPHR) a plus


Position Details:

  • Location: Santee, San Diego

  • Type: Contract to hire role

  • Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm PST

  • Compensation: $28-$33 per hour DOE
