Position Title: Human Resources Generalist
Salary Range: $20–$24 per hour
Reports To: President
Schedule: Full-Time | On-site | Monday–Friday

Position Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support our growing organization. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for an HR professional with a solid understanding of employment law, employee relations, and talent acquisition processes. The HR Generalist will be a trusted partner to leadership and employees, ensuring HR operations run smoothly while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, interviews, background checks, offer letters, and new hire orientation.

  • Oversee employee lifecycle changes including promotions, status updates, compensation adjustments, and offboarding procedures.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations, addressing performance concerns, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and internal investigations.

  • Develop, update, and enforce company policies and procedures, including the employee handbook.

  • Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, reconciliation, and open enrollment.

  • Administer and maintain the company’s HRIS system and ensure accuracy of employee records.

  • Lead and document safety committee meetings; oversee OSHA compliance and injury reporting (Forms 300, 300A, 301).

  • Support payroll operations, garnishments, and compensation tracking in collaboration with finance.

  • Conduct exit interviews, manage COBRA and 401(k) transitions, and maintain compliance with all state and federal labor regulations.

  • Coordinate performance appraisal cycles, ensure documentation is submitted on time, and compensation aligns with performance outcomes.

  • Maintain digital and physical employee files, manage unemployment claims, and support disability, life, and workers’ comp processes.

  • Stay informed on HR trends, labor laws, and industry best practices to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; relevant HR experience may be considered in place of formal education.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in human resources, preferably in a generalist role.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and rapport across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with employee relations, benefits administration, recruiting, and policy implementation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while maintaining accuracy.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Paycom or other integrated HR/payroll systems.

  • Familiarity with employment law and HR compliance at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience creating and delivering training or HR-related presentations.
