Job Title: IT Application Analyst - Pharmacist
Schedule: 5X8; 8AM-5PM AZ Time
Location: Hybrid in Scottsdale, AZ
Duration: 6 months
Job Summary: Under the direction of Leadership, the IT Applications Analyst Pharmacist is responsible for empowering our community through the continuous development, deployment, and support of vendor proprietary enterprise application software. The Application Analyst Pharmacist supports software necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. This position analyzes existing and proposed vendor-supplied software functionality to determine if the software conforms to current clinical health system workflow processes. The Application Analyst Pharmacist collaborates with business operations to understand and define system requirements to develop innovative solutions meeting the customers' needs.
The Application Analyst Pharmacist is responsible for understanding and conforming to HonorHealth's project and change management methodologies and may lead low to moderate complexity projects leveraging this framework. Additionally, this position requires an on-call rotation to support incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy Sciences from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
Registered Pharmacist (RPh)
Certification for assigned application should be obtained within the designated time frame per policy. Arizona Board of Pharmacy License within 6 months of hire date.
3+ years of Healthcare, consulting, or IT-related experience demonstrating an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run healthcare systems business, clinical, or financial systems.
Preferred:
PharmD degree in Pharmacy Sciences from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
Registered Pharmacist (RPh)
Certification training and/or certification in assigned application. Certification or licensure for clinical, revenue cycle, or business unit that primary application supports. Epic certification as applicable for assigned team.
5+ years of Healthcare, consulting, or IT-related experience demonstrating an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run healthcare systems business, clinical, or financial systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Utilize knowledge of medications and pharmacy workflows to troubleshoot low to moderate complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management, and leadership. Contribute to technical and workflow root cause analysis.
Act as a consultant to healthcare professionals regarding utilization of pharmaceutical therapies and participate in Network committees and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
Provide education and support for the implementation of projects, programs, and pharmacy initiatives (e.g., automation, clinical monitoring, patient education).
Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy informatics students. Actively participate in the education and training of new pharmacy employees, pharmacy students, and pharmacy interns.
Utilize appropriate analytic tools and process improvement techniques to assess and improve medication-use processes.
Assess published literature and/or database sources to identify best practices and/or guidelines relevant to appropriate medication-use and identify opportunities for pharmaceutical-related changes.
Analyze business operations as they relate to design decisions and prioritize and implement requested changes to the system. Perform in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of integrated applications with minimal assistance.
Design, test, implement, and support files/systems within assigned products and scope with minimal supervision.
Populate tables and databases, for a domain with multiple owners, with some assistance from Vendor and Information Technology staff. Collaborate in an integrated approach to eliminate the potential for a negative impact on our customers and patients.
Maintain set standards of application system build and database maintenance, including updates to master files, profiles, dictionaries, and other databases. Assist with recommendations for standardized naming, numbering, and security conventions.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Communicate effectively (written and oral) across all levels of the organization and determine the appropriate forum for each method. Develop effective working relationships across HonorHealth and with vendor applications support personnel.
Prioritize and manage individual workload with minimal assistance. Collaborate effectively with team members to adjust priorities based on business needs.
Assist with the change management, project management, and documentation policies and standards established by the Information Technology Department and Project Management Office for maintenance, requests, and new initiatives. May lead low to moderate complexity projects as assigned.
Understand and utilize the IT Project Management toolset for the successful completion of initiatives.
Follow established change management procedures for testing, documenting, and communicating system changes.
Compensation: $80-95 hr
