Director of Data Architecture & Governance

About the Role
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a strategic and technical leader to drive enterprise data transformation. This Director will lead architecture, engineering, and governance initiatives to deliver scalable AI/data solutions while ensuring compliance and ethical standards.
Note: Monthly travel outside of the Pacific Northwest is required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams delivering enterprise data platforms and AI products
Architect modern data infrastructure (lakehouse, streaming, mesh)
Implement enterprise data governance and responsible AI policies
Collaborate with business and tech leaders to align strategy and execution
Promote engineering excellence and product-centric delivery
Ideal Candidate
12+ years in data engineering/architecture; 8+ years in leadership
Experience in regulated industries (insurance preferred)
Skilled in cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake), orchestration tools, and metadata systems
Strong understanding of data governance, MLOps, and GenAI frameworks
Certifications in Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or AI Governance preferred
Compensation
Greater Seattle Area: $221K–$270K (Full range: $184K–$307K)
Outside Seattle Area: $195K–$239K (Full range: $163K–$271K)
Compensation is based on experience, location, and qualifications.
