LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.



Job Summary:


The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with federal and state regulations, and provides support to employees regarding payroll-related matters. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Payroll Processing:


  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculation of hours, wages, overtime, and deductions.


  • Manage payroll-related data entry and maintain up-to-date records in payroll systems.


  • Verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and compliance.


  • Compliance and Reporting:


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and labor regulations.


  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including Form 941, W-2s, and other required filings.


  • Handle garnishments, tax levies, and other mandatory deductions.


  • Employee Support:


  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly.


  • Provide guidance to employees on payroll policies, procedures, and systems.


  • System and Process Management:


  • Assist in system upgrades or implementations related to payroll.


  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll operations.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.


  • 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.


  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.


  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across teams.


  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.


Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
