LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with federal and state regulations, and provides support to employees regarding payroll-related matters. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculation of hours, wages, overtime, and deductions.
Manage payroll-related data entry and maintain up-to-date records in payroll systems.
Verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and compliance.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and labor regulations.
Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including Form 941, W-2s, and other required filings.
Handle garnishments, tax levies, and other mandatory deductions.
Employee Support:
Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Provide guidance to employees on payroll policies, procedures, and systems.
System and Process Management:
Assist in system upgrades or implementations related to payroll.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Key Competencies:

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across teams.
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
