About The Role (Onsite)
LHH is looking for a Product Safety and Compliance Engineer to support the development of our client's Computer Hardware Products and ensure current product compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations. The Compliance Engineer will provide technical support to the business through expertise in compliance, regulatory, and certification codes and standards related to the product, as well as coordinate certifications and compliance projects with domestic and international government and independent test agencies.
Duties
Validate and prepare products to ensure compliance with applicable product-safety (UL/IEC 62368-1) and EMC standards (FCC, ICES, CE) and certifications.
Collaborate closely with hardware design teams throughout the product lifecycle to obtain the required regulatory compliance and safety certifications.
Apply for and prepare global certification applications, and resolve issues related to ongoing compliance efforts.
Validate and ensure any product shipped from the manufacturing facility is compliant with applicable standards and certifications.
Ensure any modifications to existing product designs are compliant with applicable standards and certifications.
Follow revisions of applicable standards and certification requirements to ensure all designs and products are compliant at all times.
Assist in certificate factory audits to ensure the company is compliant with follow-up services and inspections.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience in regulatory/certification/compliance lab or product development, or a master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
Preferred experience in the computer hardware industry/manufacturing.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Experience with global regulatory certification requirements and processes for North America, Asia, and Europe.
Knowledge and experience with components and materials used in computer servers, AC and DC power-delivery systems, servers, as well as electrical and mechanical manufacturing environments.
Project management experience.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Accountability: ownership of compliance requirements and regulatory maintenance from product design through the product’s end of life.
Communication and teamwork: work with third-party labs, customers, and internal stakeholders, sharing information and communicating with engineering, business, and test teams.
Planning and organization: establish tasks, determine resources, and plan actions to meet regulatory requirements.
Drive for results: consistently goes above and beyond what the job or situation requires.
